Foam Fire Suppression System
A Foam Fire Suppression System is a type of fire protection system that uses a foam agent to extinguish fires. these systems are designed for use in areas where ordinary water-based suppression systems are not effective, such as in cooking areas or near electrical equipment. The foam agent displaces oxygen and smothers the fire, preventing re-ignition. We produce various types of foam fire suppression systems, including clean agents and foam-water systems, suitable for different applications and industries.
Types of Foam Fire Fighting Systems
Foam fire fighting systems are vital for suppressing flammable liquid fires. They use foam, a combination of water and foam concentrate, to cover the fire's surface and cut off the air supply, preventing re-ignition. These systems are installed in various places, such as oil refineries, chemical plants, airports, and other high-hazard industries. They are also valuable in municipal fire departments and special hazard facilities.

Foam Fire Extinguishing System: Horizontal type and Vertical type
The foam Bladder Tank is to provide a foam solution for the fire foam system. It mainly consists of a pressure tank, bladder, proportioned, control valves, pressure gauge, and pipelines. High-pressure water is needed to swap out foam concentrate(stored in the bladder in the tank)from the tank as a certain proportion. Foam concentrate then mix with pressurized water and form foam solution. The concentrate is discharged from the tank by incoming water applying pressure to the bladder.
High-quality Control
The tank shell is constructed of steel, complying with China's common specifications and possessing a tensile strength of no less then 70,000 psi. The circumferential as well as longitudinal body seams are welded by machine. The tank interior welds and edges are ground smooth. The tank shell water inlet and water drain are screened to prevent bladder blowout. The vertical tank assembly is supported by three legs with access to the bladder drain valve and the tank shell fill valve. Three legs are anchoring for the tank. The horizontal assembly is supported on two saddles welded to the tank and fitted with anchoring holes.
Work Principle
When the pressure ratio of the flow through the proportioner, a portion of the pressure of water ( 3% -6 % ) from the manifold into the extruder foam liquid storage tank within the capsule, the replacement of the same amount of foam concentrate and another portion of water ( 97% -97% ), mixed into a foam mixture in a blender proportional to the bubble generating means for generating an air bubble out the fire.
Characteristic
1. The system doesn't need to be an individually configured foam pump, the pressure can be directly borrowed from the fire foam liquid water drive, saving the costs.
2. Ensure optimum foam mixing ratio, so the fire is quick and reliable.
3. The pressure loss is small, to ensure that the end of the foam system produces the desired pressure equipment.
4. The foam concentrate and water through the capsule isolation, and can be used several times.
Characteristic
5. Easy operation and maintenance, small footprint, and can be automatic control.
6. There are a variety of foam concentrate tank capacities equipped with different flow proportioners to meet the needs of a variety of foam-generating equipment.
7. It can be widely used in low-medium and high-expansion foam fire extinguishing systems.
Q1: Are foam firefighting systems effective on all types of fires?
A1: While foam fire fighting systems are highly effective on flammable liquid fires and fires involving solid combustibles, their use may be limited or require additional precautions on certain fires, such as electrical fires or reactive metal fires. In such cases, using foam may not be the best option, and other fire suppression methods should be considered.
Q2: How often should foam firefighting systems be maintained?
A2: Regular maintenance is crucial to ensure foam firefighting systems' reliability and effectiveness. Generally, a routine monthly inspection is recommended, along with annual maintenance. Additionally, hydrostatic testing of foam concentrates and other specific requirements must be performed at specified intervals to comply with industry standards and regulations.
Q3: Can foam firefighting systems be used in portable form?
A3: Foam fire fighting systems can be used in various portable forms, such as handheld foam branches, foam extinguishers, and portable foam generators. These portable systems are designed for use in smaller applications or as supplementary equipment in firefighting operations, providing versatility and mobility in fire suppression efforts.
Q4: Are foam concentrates environmentally friendly?
A4: Traditionally, some foam concentrates contained per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), raising environmental and health concerns. However, advancements have been made in developing low-hazard foam concentrates that minimize PFAS content. These environmentally friendly options are designed to provide effective fire suppression while reducing potential environmental impacts. It's essential to choose foam concentrates that meet environmental standards and regulations.
Q5: Can foam firefighting systems be integrated with other fire suppression technologies?
A5: Foam fire fighting systems can be combined with other technologies, such as water mist systems, sprinklers, and clean agent systems, to create a comprehensive fire protection strategy. This integration enhances the overall effectiveness of fire suppression, providing tailored solutions for complex industrial facilities and maximizing safety and asset protection.
